Offline is international

Hi everyone,

We're pleased to announce the launch of offline for Docs in the following languages listed in this help article!

If you'd like to get started, you'll first need to install Gears, and then enable offline for Google Docs. We also recommend that you read the list below to get acquainted with Docs offline.

Please note that viewing spreadsheets offline isn't available for users using the secured login for Google Docs, SSL, and any version of Internet Explorer. The current workaround is to use a different browser.

DO...
Do read the basics about how Google Docs offline works.

Do create a desktop shortcut to Google Docs for easy offline access.

Do create a few new/empty text documents so that you'll have them to work in offline.

Do let your collaborators know if you'll be working in a shared text document offline. If collaborators online and you (offline) both make extensive changes, you'll get more conflicts on re-syncing the document.

Do use the same browser and computer that you used to work offline when you're ready to sync your changes. Learn more.

Do make a backup copy on the desktop of your text document changes if your offline indicator is red with an exclamation point. Where possible, also leave the browser open until you're once again online & connected (at which point the indicator should go back to green).

DON'T
Don't install the offline feature on a public or shared computer, as anyone using that computer can access your offline data.

Don't uninstall (or "reset") the offline feature if you are having problems syncing your offline changes, as your offline changes will not be saved once the feature is uninstalled. Learn more.

Don't close your browser or uninstall if you're getting persistent error messages while working offline. Instead, make a backup copy of your offline data and send us the error log. Learn more.
