Launched for the drawings feature - ability to add images and align text

Thursday, July 30, 2009 | 5:45 PM

I'm pleased to announce a couple of additions to the drawings feature of Google Docs - the ability to insert images and align text.

To insert images:

1. From within your document, spreadsheet or presentation, click Insert > Drawing.
2. Click the Insert image button in the toolbar.
3. In the window that appears, enter the URL of the image you'd like to insert.
4. Click OK.

Additional details are posted in our help article at http://docs.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=156697

You can align text by clicking the Align drop-down menu at the right side of the drawings toolbar. The Align dropdown-menu will become visible when you select a text box or an object containing text.

Here's a video of adding images.

Note, WYSIWYG does not perform well.
